“The times are changing”—a phrase that now reflects scientifically recognized shifts in our environment. For poor, agriculture-dependent communities, adapting to these changes is increasingly difficult. Rapid population growth, shrinking arable land, and climate change have compounded the challenges.

To address these issues, Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha (GJUS) has been implementing targeted, science-based agricultural initiatives since its inception. With strong support from Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), GJUS has expanded its impact, especially through its Agriculture and Livestock Unit and KGF projects.

Recognizing the critical condition of two key agricultural resources—seeds and soil—GJUS has promoted sustainable technologies that help small and marginal farmers maximize limited resources and increase income. These initiatives also provide farmers with integrated support, including financial services, technical training, and business development, contributing to significant improvements in their livelihoods.

Goal

To ensure food and nutrition security by promoting sustainable agricultural technologies and enhancing the capacity of small and marginal farmers—ultimately improving agricultural productivity and farmers’ quality of life.

Objectives

To achieve this goal, the PKSF Agriculture Unit focuses on:

          1- Expanding sustainable agricultural technologies

2- Ensuring food and nutrition security

3- Enhancing employability and providing training

          4- Strengthening market linkages
